About this race
Courir pour la vie à Janzé is a charity run held at the Gentieg site in Janzé, Brittany. It takes place over a weekend in October and is linked to Tous pour la vie, the local association that organizes Courir pour la vie-Courir pour Curie. The event focuses on fundraising and support for individuals affected by cancer, their families, and medical research, rather than solely on race times.
Since its inception, the event has attracted tens of thousands of participants, with support from the Pays de la Roche aux Fées and Châteaugiron regions. Funds raised are divided equally between two cancer research institutions: the Eugène Marquis center in Rennes, which is Brittany's only facility dedicated exclusively to cancer treatment, and the Institut Curie in Paris. The association reports that it generates more funding for these two centers than any other organization.
