Course aux Dahuts is a night trail and walking event held in early December in Saint-Gilles-du-Mené, located in Le Mené, Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany. Participants begin after dark; the 15 km race starts at 6 PM, followed shortly by the 8 km race, making a strong headlamp essential equipment. The event's name references the dahut, a mythical wild animal, aligning with a race that incorporates forest trails, darkness, and a touch of Breton distinctiveness.
The event features 8 km and 15 km trail races, alongside 8 km and 12 km walks, with crampons advised for reaching the finish. Adapted-sport athletes from Côtes-d'Armor participate, and the race is included in the Challenge Bretagne Centre, initiated by LCBC. Now in its eighteenth edition, it is associated with Fromené Amitié Nature, and all profits are donated to Rêves de Clown, an organization that visits hospitalized children, aiming to improve their hospital stays through play.
