About this race
The Course des Poiriers en Fleurs is a 10.2 km road race that begins and ends in Mantilly, a village known as the capital of poiré, France’s pear cider. It takes place in spring along a single loop on narrow country roads, featuring a moderately hilly course with an aid station at about 6 km and another after the finish. Race-day check-in, bib pickup, and late registration are managed at Mantilly Town Hall. The main race is open to participants from the cadet age group upwards.
The route traces the pear-blossom circuit, passing local landmarks such as the Table au Diable and the Oratory Chapel of Passais. The event emphasizes local products: each runner receives a bottle of poiré and jam. Bib numbers are entered into a lottery for regional food baskets, and prizes are awarded to the top men, women, and category winners. A free, mandatory-registration children’s race of 600 meters is also held; it is untimed, and all children receive a medal and a bottle of fruit juice.
