Course des Rives - Thonon-les-Bains 2026

The Course des Rives begins and ends at the port of Thonon-les-Bains, overlooking Lake Geneva, with the lake and mountains visible from the race area. This November running and walking event in Haute-Savoie offers a 5.6 km race, an 11.6 km race, a 7 km Nordic and leisure walk, and children’s races ranging from 900 m to 4 km. The shorter run is quick and accessible, featuring approximately 46 meters of elevation gain, while the longer run introduces more variety and slightly more climbing at about 57 meters. The route incorporates a blend of roads, sidewalks, and trails, following the lakeside rather than remaining on a single surface. The 11.6 km option requires some pacing strategy, with a water station near the 5 km mark and sufficient surface changes to differentiate it from a standard road race. The event attracts runners, walkers, families, and children, with past participation numbers around one thousand. Refreshments are provided at the finish, and 1 euro from each entry fee supports SEPas Impossible, an organization dedicated to reducing isolation for individuals with multiple sclerosis.
