About this race
The Course Nature Sauvage is an autumn nature race held at Domaine Le Sauvage, near Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in the Camargue. It is a trail event, not a road race, with runners beginning late in the morning after the domain opens. One edition recorded 330 registered participants, including 211 runners, indicating the event is more of a community outdoor race than a large city competition.
The route incorporates the Camargue landscape: coastal paths, marshland, natural tracks, and a wild beach are all part of the course. The event emphasizes environmental stewardship, with the Camargue viewed as a delicate area that participants are urged to respect. Following the race, runners and their guests convene for a paella lunch on the beach, fostering a social atmosphere alongside the competition.
