Les Héros begins in Saint-Vulbas, in the Ain department of eastern France. It is a cyclosportive, not a closed-road professional race. Participants select from multiple distances; the Les Héros route is listed at 100 km with approximately 1,500 metres of elevation gain. The event accommodates various cyclists, from those participating in their first sportive to riders seeking a challenging, competitive day.
The courses traverse the Ain plain and extend into the initial Bugey foothills, combining flatter valley roads with undulating ascents. The region is situated between the Rhône and Ain rivers. Feed stations providing water and food are regularly positioned along the course. Registration is completed online. Riders require either an FFC or FFVélo license or a recent medical certificate permitting competition. Popular distances often fill rapidly.
