The Défi Louvernéen is a trail race held in Louverné, Mayenne, France. Its race village is located by the old lime kilns next to the Étang de la Vannerie. Participants can select from short and middle-distance routes, usually about 8 km, 13 km, and 22 km, making the event suitable for both novice trail runners and those seeking a more demanding off-road challenge.
The location defines the event. The course is situated near Natur’Eau Echologia, on a former lime production site where vegetation has reclaimed the industrial remnants. The shortest route, named “La chaux’7,” is designed to be enjoyable yet challenging, not entirely flat. Runners may opt to wear costumes, adding to the festive atmosphere. The recently revived race attracted over 500 participants following a hiatus, with the local Louverné running association instrumental in its comeback.
