The Duathlon de Belgeard is a run-bike-run event in Belgeard, a small commune in Mayenne within the Pays de la Loire region. Typically held in March, this event is relatively new, with its fourth edition offering multiple formats instead of a single race. Children's races feature short courses: ages 6 to 9 compete over 250 m on foot, 1 km by bike, and 250 m on foot again. Ages 10 to 13 race 750 m, 5 km, and 750 m. Adults and older juniors can choose the XS, a no-drafting race covering 2.5 km running, 10 km cycling, and 1.25 km running, or the S race, which allows drafting and consists of 5 km running, 21 km cycling, and 2.25 km running.
The S race also serves as a D3 selection event, attracting club athletes competing for team positions alongside local multisport runners. One account from TCN mentioned eight athletes at the Belgeard D3 race, with both women's and men's teams present. The competition appeared strong: one participant recounted checking the bike course after recovering from an injury, only to feel fatigue in their legs from the initial kilometre of the first run. Food is available at the venue, and the closest train station is Neau, approximately 12 km distant. The organizer is MASTRIA 53.
