Duo des cabanes de l'or - Mauguio 2027

Duo des Cabanes de l'Or is a paired time-trial race in Mauguio, starting from the Plaine des Sports on Route de Bentenac. The main event sends teams of two over 14.8 km, with each pair racing the clock rather than a mass-start pack. Cap Melgueil organizes the morning with support from the commune and the Hérault department, and the program also includes a joëlette race plus children's races for younger runners. The race is described locally as the oldest duo race in the region and draws more than 500 runners each year. It emphasizes the social aspect: costumes are encouraged, entertainment is planned, and the themed aid stations offer cheese, oysters, grilled meats, and onion soup on the route and at the finish. Runners must bring their own cup or bottle because no plastic cups are handed out, and they commit to leaving no waste on the course. After the finish, participants receive an aperitif, then the day moves indoors to Salle Morastel for the meal, prize-giving, and a charity tombola.
