L'Escrapade is a spring trail-running event held in Journans, a village in France's Ain department, situated near the Dombes and Bresse regions. The primary race covers approximately 21 km with an elevation gain of 700 to 800 meters. A shorter 9 km race offers 260 meters of climbing. Children's races are held first, with distances of 600 m, 850 m, and 1450 m suitable for age groups from approximately 5 to 15 years old.
The longer trail is designed for runners with prior experience in mountain or hilly trail running. The 9 km option provides an accessible entry point for newer runners to explore the local trails without the commitment of a longer distance. This 9 km race also contributes to the Challenge GBA Grand Bourg Agglomération. L'Escrapade is an established local event originating from Journans, with a community club atmosphere rather than a large-scale urban race format.
