About this race
Falaiz'Trail de Saint-Romain is a trail race held in Saint-Romain, Côte-d'Or, Burgundy-Franche-Comté, with editions in late March. Organized by Team Sport et Nature, it provides 8 km and 16 km options, allowing participants to select a short, brisk run or a longer trail excursion. The race primarily follows paths and tracks surrounding the commune, avoiding roads, and features a distinct setting with Burgundy vineyards on one side and cliffs on the other.
The course incorporates forest paths, untamed sections, and undulating terrain at the base of the Burgundy cliffs, which the organizers term a vertiginous challenge. It is designed for both novice and seasoned runners, with the 8 km route offering an accessible introduction and the 16 km route providing a more comprehensive trail experience. The event embraces a straightforward local ethos: participants compete intensely, share the exertion, and view Saint-Romain via its trails rather than its village streets.
