About this race
Footing des Pères Noël is a free evening Christmas fun run in Saint-Aubin-des-Bois, connected to the Christmas festivities in Chartres. Participants meet from 18:15 and begin at 18:45 from Place Billard; voluntary contributions are accepted in lieu of a fixed entry fee. Les Vitrines C'Chartres organizes it with G.O d'Halloween, and the event anticipates around one hundred participants dressed as Santa Claus.
The route goes through the winter city center and concludes at Place des Halles, where a refreshment stop is scheduled. The Santa costume is required, but organizers suggest selecting one light enough for running, along with a headlamp for visibility in the dark. The playful additions include the warming “soupe du lutin,” or elf soup, aligning with the event’s festive atmosphere rather than a competitive racing spirit.
