The Foulée Meudonnaise is a spring running event held in Meudon, Hauts-de-Seine, near Paris, with most of its courses set within the Forêt de Meudon and around the Observatoire. It features short children’s races of 800 m and 1.8 km, a 5 km run, a 5 km walk, a 10 km race, and an 8 km relay run organized as 4 x 2 km. Typically, around 2,500 bibs are distributed, with approximately 3,000 participants anticipated across all events.
The routes traverse forest paths and public parks, avoiding a city-road circuit, and pass landmarks like the Parc de l’Observatoire, the Bel Air pond, and the Étang de Villebon. This race, established in 1980, has now surpassed thirty editions. It welcomes competitive runners, recreational runners, handisport athletes, children, and participants from Meudon’s twin towns. A significant connection to schools is a core aspect of the event; it was initiated partly to encourage young people in athletics, and school participants are charged a nominal €1 fee.
