About this race
Costumes, chocolate, and winter running are central to the Foulées hivernales in Pont-Scorff, Morbihan. This annual event, which rotates among municipalities in the Lorient area, features a timed running race and a walking option for adults and children. Approximately 300 runners are anticipated, with participants aged 16 to 77, indicating a community-focused race rather than a highly competitive one.
The race begins at Place de la Maison des Princes and spans roughly 10 kilometers over three loops, primarily on trails with some road segments. Organizers from the Macadam association emphasize the social aspect: participants are encouraged to wear costumes, each entrant receives a box of chocolates, and top finishers are awarded gift baskets. Hot chocolate and mulled wine contribute to the festive atmosphere, and the walking route allows families and non-runners to explore the local surroundings.
