Running: Locals run Lens-Béthune with a trail head and a road-race engine. La Route du Louvre gives the area its anchor event, with the marathon starting in Lille and the 10km starting in Lens before the finish in Loos en Gohelle. The course passes near the Louvre Lens museum, so race week feels close to home. CHTITRAIL - Lens, Bouge ton coeur - Lens, Trail Urbain de la Sainte-Barbe, Trail de la Glissoire - Avion, and Arena Terril Trail - Noyelles-sous-Lens keep the calendar busy. Tripp Sport in Liévin is the local trail, running, triathlon, and swim spot.
Cycling: Locals ride a dense little web from Lens, with 61 cycle routes to pick from. One route runs 8 km with 66 m ascent for steady Z2.
