About this race
The Gorilla Race takes runners onto the nature trails near Saint-Genis-l'Argentière, a village in the Monts du Lyonnais, Rhône department, France. This late-October trail event offers two main distances: the Gorilla Sprint at 8 km and the Gorilla Endu'Race at approximately 18 km. Both races begin in the morning. Autumn weather can bring mud, rain, or variable conditions to a course set on forest paths with short, steep trail sections.
The event also features a joëlette course, allowing participants with reduced mobility to join the day with team support. This race was established by the Gorilla brand to commemorate its fifth anniversary and the fiftieth anniversary of Joint Technique, the factory producing Gorilla's laces. The inaugural edition attracted 473 participants, including amateur runners, seasoned trail athletes, and company teams. Organisers operated the event under the Trail Running Foundation label, adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards. The race's ethos centers on building connections, focusing on a local trail day centered on sport, teamwork, and inclusivity rather than a large-scale spectacle.
