About this race
GravelMan Series Brest starts from Brest in Finistère, at the western edge of Brittany, and sends riders out for a self-supported cycling adventure. It offers gravel and road formats, with distances of 60 km, 120 km, 200 km, 350 km, and 500 km, so the same series can suit a shorter off-road ride or a long day-and-night challenge. Riders are expected to navigate for themselves, and a GPS is more than a convenience here because the event does not revolve around packed groups or frequent aid stops.
The routes lean into Brittany’s rougher side: sea air, damp earth, coastal roads, wild stretches, and a profile that keeps rising and dropping. Wind can help or punish riders, especially near the Atlantic coast, where lighthouses may appear along the way. The field is built for people who like independence, mud, and long efforts more than a controlled race-day bubble. After finishing, the local recovery plan is very Breton: kouign-amann, galette-saucisse on the port, or toast thick with salted butter.
