Infinity Trail Backyard – Ile d’Aix

Infinity Trail Backyard – Ile d’Aix is a seaside backyard ultra on Île d’Aix, a small island in Charente-Maritime in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It is held in early October on a 6.706 km trail loop, with a new start each hour. The format is simple and fairly brutal: finish the loop in time, line up again, and continue until you cannot or choose not to. The route uses the island setting rather than a long point-to-point course, featuring sea air, forest sections, and natural trails within the repeated loop. To be a finisher, runners must complete the final loop they start; stopping halfway does not count. The race is part of the Infinity Trail series, which has events in locations such as Pas de Calais, Landes, Seine-Maritime, Côte d’Or, and Finistère, and is organized by Trail the World, the trail travel agency founded by Maud and Fred.
