About this race
Infinity Trail Pont du Gard is a trail race in Vers-Pont-du-Gard, southern France, centered on 6.7 km loops beside the Pont du Gard, a UNESCO World Heritage Roman aqueduct. Runners complete loops for as long as they wish or are able, meaning one participant might finish around 20 km while another continues much further.
The loop follows trails and singletrack near the monument, passing vineyards, Roman ruins, and the Gardon riverbanks. It serves as an endurance test, but the open format allows runners of all levels to participate on the same course. Lazarus Lake, creator of the Backyard Ultra and Barkley Marathons, is associated with the event, linking the series to some of trail running’s most distinctive race formats.
