About this race

L'Infernal Trail des Vosges is a September trail and ultra-trail event based in Saint-Nabord, in the Vosges mountains of eastern France. The race weekend offers distances from around 15 km and 30 km to mountain races of 70 km, 100 km, 130 km, and approximately 200 km. It is designed for runners trying a mountain trail event and ultra runners seeking a long, technical outing with significant climbing. The longest race is an individual semi-autonomous challenge of about 200 km, with around 10,000 m of ascent and a cutoff of 61 hours. The routes traverse more than thirty communes across the Vosges and Haut-Rhin departments, using ridges, mountain pastures, waterfalls, natural lakes, glacial valleys, and village paths. Runners face technical trails, substantial elevation changes, and mountain weather that can shift during the race. The longest distance begins late on Thursday night, meaning competitors quickly enter a first night on the course. The event has become the main sporting fixture in the Vosges region and one of the largest ultra-trail gatherings in northeastern France, with nearly ten races traditionally sharing the same festival weekend.
