About this race
The 6000D begins in Aime-la-Plagne, located in the Savoie Alps. It ascends from valley orchards towards the glacier above La Plagne. This main event is a demanding mountain trail run covering approximately 69 km, featuring around 3,400 m of elevation gain and a 14-hour time limit. It is part of a three-day summer race weekend that also features a relay, a marathon-distance trail race, a 30 km race around lakes, an 11 km discovery run, a bobsleigh-track ascent, children's races, and an adventure event.
The complete course reaches Live 3000 at 3,050 m before descending to the valley at approximately 670 m, with the majority of the route following paths and trails. Close to 2,000 runners participate in the main race, which holds a high mountain rating within the ITRA system. An uncommon segment directs runners onto the Olympic bobsleigh track early in the course. Spectators have the option to use the cable car towards Roche de Mio and Live 3000 to observe the race from high on the mountain. The 6000D boasts over thirty years of history and is included in France’s Challenge National Trail series.
