La Bicentenaire is a spring race weekend held in La Roche-sur-Yon, Vendée, western France. The event features road running, nature sections, night events, and walking routes. Typically held in early April, it offers shorter distances of 2.65 km, 5.5 km, and 10.14 km, accommodating families, clubs, casual runners, hikers, and faster local athletes. Established in the early 2000s, the event now attracts several thousand participants across its races and hikes, with a recent main race seeing around 2,000 starters.
The disco-style night run and walk is a highlight, covering a 5 km urban route through the city center, passing through local spots enhanced with sound and light installations. A DJ manages the start and finish areas. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and headlamps, and past entries have included a costume accessory kit. A portion of the entry fee benefits Le Rire Médecin. The weekend also includes Sunday runs and walks, positioning La Bicentenaire as a local spring gathering rather than solely a competitive race.
