La Boucle des Étoiles begins in Vidaillac, a small village in the Lot, leading participants onto the paths of the Causses du Quercy. This April event offers two trail races, 7 km and 15 km, alongside an 8 km walk for those preferring the countryside without timed competition. The organization is local and straightforward: a village start, reasonable entry fees, morning departures, and a charitable cause linked to each bib.
The courses traverse the Parc naturel régional des Causses du Quercy, showcasing Lot landscapes with small valleys, limestone plateaus, and nature trails near Vidaillac. The inaugural event saw more walkers than runners, with over 170 hikers, 79 finishers in the 7 km race, and 61 in the 15 km race. The day also featured a refreshment stand, food service, and a communal meal attended by more than 280 people. The Vidaillac festival committee, with support from the town hall and CRCA, organizes the event, with participation proceeds benefiting cancer care and research in Toulouse via the Oncopole and the Institut Universitaire du Cancer.
