La cherveusienne - Cherveux 2026

La Cherveusienne begins and ends in the castle courtyard at Cherveux, a village in Deux-Sèvres. Organized by the Amicale Rurale de Cherveux, this small winter running event offers 6 km and 12 km races starting in the morning, with a 7 km walk departing slightly earlier. The field is local and friendly, not large: one recent edition saw close to 400 participants across all events. Both running courses follow the white farm tracks surrounding Cherveux; the longer route extends towards Saint-Christophe-sur-Roc. Finishing before the castle provides a distinct landmark. The terrain can be muddy, favoring runners adept at trail-style footing, descents, and rapid changes in pace. The faster end of the 12 km can still be competitive, with past winners including regional club runners. Marine Lambert, for example, leveraged downhill and trail-running skills, developed while residing on Réunion, to secure the women's victory.
