About this race
La Corrida de Noël de La Crèche is a Christmas-time road race held in La Crèche, located in the Deux-Sèvres department of western France. It features two distances, 5 km and 10 km, and attracts over a thousand participants annually. This race holds the distinction of being the oldest in Deux-Sèvres, with a history spanning almost fifty years, and registration often closes several days prior to the event.
The course is flat and fast, suitable for runners aiming for personal bests, yet the event maintains a distinct end-of-year festive atmosphere. Local participants from the Niort region compete alongside individuals from neighboring towns, and the field comprises both dedicated athletes and those participating for the ambiance. Recent champions have commended the swift course and the spectator turnout, with the intense competition at the front demonstrating that the holiday spirit does not diminish the race's pace.
