About this race
La Corrida du Vieux-Boussac is a free 6 km road race in Boussac, a town in the Creuse department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It takes place in late December, with the streets of Vieux Boussac giving it the feel of a local holiday run rather than a big-city event. The town of Boussac organizes it with support from Boussac Running, and past editions have drawn more than 100 runners.
The route stays within old Boussac and packs a lot into a short distance: town streets, the castle gardens, a descent toward the waterfall, and some greener sections around the village. It is short enough for casual runners to enter, but the front of the field is quick, with winning pace around 3:12 per kilometer in the 6 km race. Registration and rules are handled through Courir36, and the race sits between a local festivity and a straight sporting contest.
