La Corrida sancerroise de Noël is a December running event through the streets and narrow alleys of Sancerre’s old town. It is part of the town’s Téléthon programme, aligning it more with a local charity race day than a large-scale road race. The main options are a 7 km run, available solo or as a duo, and a 3.5 km beginner race, with children’s races over 2.1 km, 950 m, and 200 m.
The old-town setting means the short distances still present a challenge: the 7 km and 3.5 km races list 125 m of climbing, while the 2.1 km children’s race has 50 m of gain. The children’s races start first in the afternoon, followed by the adult 7 km and 3.5 km events. Entry fees are modest, from a few euros for children to a little more for the solo and duo races, fitting the community Téléthon spirit.
