About this race
La Corruda is a mountain race day in Lestelle-Bétharram, located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of southwest France. Held in early September, it offers runners multiple timed events: a demanding 30 km race with 1,975 m of elevation gain, a 20 km race with 1,200 m of climbing, an 11 km trail run with 350 m of ascent, and a 9 km timed hike also featuring 350 m of gain. The 30 km event can be completed individually or as a team, meaning the most challenging route is not exclusively for solo participants.
The race routes emphasize climbing over flat speed. The longer distances incorporate time cutoffs and control points at the Aoulhet and Isarce huts. The 20 km and 30 km races are restricted to adult participants, whereas the 11 km race, without a time cutoff, presents a more accessible running choice. Each event has a set participant limit. The organizers provide lists of registered runners, an official rulebook, and results from previous years.
