La Coupe Volcanique - 3 km 2026

The 3 km at La Coupe Volcanique is an open-water swim at Gour de Tazenat, a volcanic lake in the Chaîne des Puys near Charbonnières-les-Vieilles in central France. The event is held on a Saturday in late August, with racing beginning in the morning. The program also includes 4.5 km, 1.5 km, and 600 m discovery swims. The event is part of the Coupe Volcanique, now in its ninth edition, making it a local open-water fixture. The 3 km starts at the same time as the 4.5 km race, which uses counter-clockwise laps around a triangular layout. Swimmers from youth age groups through older masters can enter. CASGA Natation Club Aquanautique St-Georges les Ancizes organizes the race.
