About this race
La Course des 4 Clochers is a trail race held in mid-March, originating in Vélizy-Villacoublay, located in the Yvelines department west of Paris. It covers approximately 17 km with around 260 meters of elevation gain. This makes it more challenging than a flat road race, yet short enough to be considered a local trail event rather than an extended mountain competition.
The course follows forest paths and road segments through the protected Bièvre Valley. It passes the Arcades de Bu
c and the four bell towers of Vélizy and Bu
c, which lend the race its name. The route also crosses Les Loges-en-Josas and Jouy-en-Josas, a town associated with Toile de Jouy fabric. The organizers incorporate the bell tower theme with lighthearted remarks about combining cardio with a pilgrimage. One participant specifically mentioned the post-race food, noting the inclusion of rillettes, salmon, sausage, pastries, and beer.
