La Course du Cœur sends nearly 100 runners from the Bois de Boulogne in Paris to Bourg-Saint-Maurice in Savoie, typically in March. It is not a standard road race with a single start and finish for each participant; the group covers approximately 800 km as a continuous relay, with teams maintaining the race's progress day and night.
The initial section of the route departs Paris through departments including Hauts-de-Seine, Essonne, and Seine-et-Marne before proceeding toward the Alps. Its objective is directly linked to organ donation awareness, making the relay format significant: many runners share one extended effort over several days rather than competing solely for individual times.
