La Farnay-Trail is a trail running event held in Farnay, located in the Loire department of France. The race takes place in the Gier valley, at the base of the Pilat massif. Participants can select from three off-road courses: one approximately 31 km with 1,190 m elevation gain, another 17 km with 540 m, and a third 10 km with 260 m. Children's races are also offered, making the event suitable for a range of participants beyond just experienced trail runners.
The courses traverse trails and paths through hilly terrain, woodlands, and open country, with parts of the route running alongside the Couzon stream. The 10 km course provides a less demanding option for newer participants, whereas the 31 km course presents a more challenging trail at the foot of the mountains. La Farnay-Trail also contributes to supporting local associations and is part of the Pays du Gier challenge.
