About this race

La Fiacraise is a 24-hour running challenge held in Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine, a village within the Nantes wine region. The core concept is straightforward and somewhat unconventional: participants complete a short vineyard circuit each hour, alternating between daylight and nighttime. The circuits measure either 5 km or 7 km, offering choices for individual runners, teams, children's relays, and walkers covering the same short distances. The course winds through vineyard paths and open rural areas, including routes along the borders of vine plots. Its draw lies in the hourly cadence as much as the distance, as the objective is to repeatedly return to the starting point over the course of a full day. The event, though recent, is expanding rapidly, with participation having increased substantially. It relies on collective effort and local camaraderie as much as competitive racing.
