La Gajanaise begins at the village hall in Gajan, Ariège, a few kilometres from Saint-Girons and Saint-Lizier. This late-March trail event, organized by Association La Gajanaise, offers a main 26 km race with 900 metres of elevation gain, a 10 km trail with 220 metres of gain, and a 12 km walk for those seeking an outing without competitive timing.
The route commences with approximately one kilometre on the road towards Taurignan-Vieux, then transitions to tracks, shaded woodland paths, fields, and undulating trails in the Couserans region, near the Pyrénées. The 26 km course ascends Montcalivert, providing a broad panorama of the Couserans range. The 10 km route offers a view towards Mont Valier after passing the aid station. Both races conclude back at the Gajan village hall following a runnable descent. One euro from each registration is donated to Trail sans limite.
