La Lavandine - Manosque 2027

La Lavandine is a new cyclosportive in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, starting from Puimoisson on the Valensole plateau in early spring. It opens the local Basses-Alpes cyclosportive calendar and is designed for amateur road cyclists, with about 200 riders expected for the first edition. Participants can select between two hilly routes: 80 km with 1,170 m of elevation gain or 120 km with 1,632 m of elevation gain. The course circulates the Valensole plateau and the gateway to the Verdon, passing through villages such as Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Sainte-Croix, Quinson, Allemagne, Riez, and Valensole. José Olmédillas, president of Union Cycliste Pays des lavandes 04, initiated the event following a lengthy hiatus from organizing cyclosportives. His club has been dedicated to promoting cycling on the Valensole plateau, making La Lavandine both a race day and a local effort to highlight those lavender-country roads for cyclists.
