About this race
La Marche Qui Fait Peur is a nighttime walk in Wailly-Conty, held in late October before Halloween. Participants select a 5 km, 10 km, or 20 km route, with modest elevation gains: 40 meters for the short route, 100 meters for the 10 km, and 160 meters for the 20 km. Starts are staggered in 15-minute waves from early evening, allowing the field to spread out as darkness falls.
The event explores how walking differs at night. Participants should bring a headlamp, as the paths are intended to feel more challenging when familiar landmarks vanish and sounds travel farther. The Halloween theme introduces minor surprises and unexpected turns, maintaining a playful rather than somber atmosphere. All finishers receive a snack, and 20 km walkers also get refreshments along the course.
