The La Marcillaise begins at the Pouffonds village hall, leading runners into the countryside surrounding Marcillé, located in France’s Deux-Sèvres department. This nature race takes place early in the year, offering two straightforward options: a 9 km course and a 16 km course. Both routes utilize trails and paths, welcoming participants who prefer to run or walk, not solely compete at top speed.
The environment is peaceful and verdant, presenting a clear objective: to venture outdoors, be active, and navigate country paths rather than urban roads. The inaugural event attracted 189 participants for the 16 km and 179 for the 9 km, marking a successful local debut. Rémi Couvet secured victory in the 16 km with a time of 1:05:51, initially holding back before taking the lead and finishing two minutes ahead. Audrey Rebeyrol claimed the women's race title in 1:25:15.
