La NeuroRun is a non-timed charity road run in Paris, held in early April in the Bois de Boulogne. Runners select either 5.5 km or 11 km, with the longer option comprising two loops. The event aligns with the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, focusing on Alzheimer’s awareness and fundraising over competition. Registration requires a commitment to collect donations, de-emphasizing timing.
The start and finish village is located opposite the Étrier de Paris, with runners starting in four staggered waves. The project is inspired by Renato Walkowiak, who ran 11 marathons in 11 cities to raise money for Alzheimer’s research and highlight the disease. La NeuroRun addresses the scale of the issue in France: approximately 1.2 million people live with Alzheimer’s, about 225,000 new cases are diagnosed annually, and roughly 3 million people assist a loved one. Participants can join in person or remotely as NeuroRunners, engaging family, friends, and colleagues to raise funds for patients, caregivers, non-drug therapies, and public awareness.
