About this race
La Normandique is a Nordic walking event on Normandy’s Côte Fleurie, taking place on the beaches around Deauville and adjacent seaside towns. Established in 2014, it is organized by the association Les Normandiques, a name merging "marche nordique" with "Normandie." The event provides two timed routes: a 7 km Health-Nature-Leisure walk for those new to the sport or seeking a relaxed pace, and a 12 km Sportive walk for participants desiring a more extended challenge.
The courses remain entirely on sand, crossing beaches connected to Villers-sur-Mer, Bénerville-sur-Mer, Blonville-sur-Mer, Tourgéville, and Deauville. Organizers state the routes are accessible to all skill levels, presenting no significant technical challenges, thus accommodating both novices and those aiming to enhance their performance. The coastal wind and summer sun are integral to the environment, and the Calvados setting contributes historical depth, as this part of Normandy is closely associated with the Second World War.
