About this race
La Ronde des Belvédères is an 11.5 km nature race in Freyming-Merlebach, run in November and organized by the local Fmac athletic club. Its name comes from the viewpoints above the Barrois quarry, which are part of the route. The main race draws a solid local field, with 510 runners on the start line, plus 70 walkers and a children’s race with around thirty boys and girls.
The course goes through the Barrois quarry and climbs toward its belvederes, with 200 meters of positive elevation gain packed into a fairly short distance. This makes the winning time of 42:10, at 3:37 per kilometer, stand out. The sharp end includes club runners and younger talent: junior Paul Schaefer finished second, Anthony Attardo third, both just over 44 minutes, while Natalli Vialichkina was first woman in 47:16.
