About this race

La Ronde des Mineurs is a trail race in Gréasque, a village in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France. It is typically held in early March and offers runners three distance options: 8 km, 14 km, or 27 km. The shorter routes are nature runs with moderate climbs, while the 27 km race, Le Trail des Mineurs, is significantly more challenging, featuring approximately 1,040 meters of elevation gain and UTMB Index 20K status. The 8 km and 14 km courses utilize DFCI fire roads and single-track paths within the communal forest of Gréasque, with 140 meters and 240 meters of climbing, respectively. These routes pass by remnants of the area's mining history, which also accounts for the race's name and its slogan, "Pars au charbon," translating to "Go to the coal." The long trail extends towards Saint-Savournin, reaches the viewpoint near the summit of Grand Puech, crosses the Vallon de la Figuière, and includes an arduous 8 km technical loop in the hills of the Étoile massif. La Foulée de Gréasque organizes the event, attracting close to a thousand participants across all distances on race day.
