La Venansaltaise is a spring Sunday-morning nature race held at the Salle Omnisports in Venansault, a town in Vendée, western France. The main adult races cover approximately 9.5 km, 16 km, and 25 km, welcoming both experienced runners and amateurs. Now in its sixth edition, the event attracts close to 1,000 participants, supported by the local association, the municipality, partners, and around 200 volunteers.
The routes are primarily off-road, with about 90% on trails, winding through the Venansault countryside: undergrowth, fields, hedgerows, paths, and even passages through gites. Past editions have guided runners by local landmarks like the châteaux des Hermitans, de La Boursière, and de Monbail, along with the abbaye des Fontenelles. Families participate with free 1 km and 2 km children’s races; an adult may accompany the first meters of the 1 km race to help manage the pace. A significant portion of the profits benefits the association Alya.
