La Western Azuréenne is a new trail running series based in Grimaud, in the Var department of southern France, with its races set around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The program includes six events, ranging from a 10 km trail to a 165 km ultra (described as a 100-mile race), covering both short mountain running and a long-distance challenge in a single weekend format.
The routes aim to showcase more than just the famous port of Saint-Tropez. Runners will explore the gulf’s coastline, inland hills, preserved forests, wild ridges, Mediterranean viewpoints, and local villages. Organizers state this is the first ultra trail in this region, with the name intentionally referencing the Western States 100 Run.
