Laroquapattes is a nature race held in Laroquebrou, a medieval town in France’s Cantal department. Organized by the LAROQUAILLE association, the event started in 2012. It is designed as an open sports day for runners who prefer trails and the countryside, along with a relaxed local atmosphere, over a formal city-road race.
The routes traverse the protected natural areas around Laroquebrou and the Cère Gorges. The terrain is not high-mountain running but still requires effort. Organizers liken the profile to a roller coaster, and the courses are frequently demanding. Following the race, the day includes a musical aperitif, a meal, and a concert, allowing families, nature enthusiasts, and runners to remain after their efforts.
