Le Crapahut des Dahuts is a four-day mountain trail race held at Le Col de l’Encrenaz in La Côte d’Arbroz, Haute-Savoie, scheduled for mid-July. The event operates from a single base camp, covering 170 km with 9,500 m of elevation gain across four stages: 36 km, 44 km, 38 km, and 52 km. This is a demanding event, limited to 200 participants, and is intended for highly experienced runners and walkers who possess both physical and mental fortitude.
The course crosses mountain and forest landscapes, with some sections passing through Natura 2000 protected zones, requiring participants to remain on the marked paths. Runners can compete individually or in teams of two or four, contributing to an adventure-raid atmosphere rather than a typical ultra-marathon. The race incorporates a culinary aspect, self-described as gastronomic. A previous iteration was more extreme, featuring seven stages, 253 km, and 32 mountain passes, with the event resuming after a two-decade hiatus.
