About this race

Le Dédale de Molière takes runners into the old streets of Pézenas, in Hérault, Occitanie, for a mid-April urban trail with a name that literally points to a maze. The event offers several ways in: Le Poquelin is a 7 km trail, Le Molière is a 16 km trail, there is also a 7 km walking option, and the Le Poulain kids’ races cover 1 km for ages 5 to 9 and 2 km for ages 10 to 15. A company challenge sits alongside the individual races, so the start list can include children, walkers, local teams, and experienced runners on the same program. The route uses Pézenas itself as the main feature, sending participants over the cobbled lanes and past places such as the bed of the Peyne, rue Juiverie, the Théâtre de Pézenas, Place Gambetta, and the Butte du Château. The longer Le Molière course leaves the tight urban feel for Mediterranean country paths, natural areas around Pézenas, and trails in the castle park. The event describes itself as “a labyrinth with big strides,” which fits a race built around alleys, historic corners, and changing surfaces rather than a simple road loop. Volunteers help run the day, and some editions open new sites or revised routes, keeping the course tied to parts of town that runners might not usually enter.
