About this race
Le Marathon des Vignobles de Cahors is a race series held in Cahors, Occitanie, in early May. The series includes a 42.45 km marathon, a 21.39 km semi-marathon, and marathon relays for teams of two or four, divided into half-marathon legs or four legs of 10 to 11 km. The semi-marathon begins in Luzech and ends in Cahors at the Marathon Village near Espace Valentre, finishing on the medieval Pont Valentre. It features approximately 206 to 220 meters of elevation gain, a four-hour time limit, and a course that is almost entirely paved with a small trail section.
The semi-marathon route travels from Luzech toward Cahors via Parnac, Douelle, and Pradines, utilizing vineyard roads and village paths. Runners can take shuttles from Cahors to the start, but there is no return shuttle from Luzech. The start is organized into Sportif, Festif, and Joelette corrals, and the course accommodates Joelettes. The event highlights the Cahors wine region: costumes are encouraged, with gastro-wine stops offering local products alongside standard aid stations. Entertainment is provided along the route after the initial kilometers. Supporters are encouraged to move between cheering points, tasting locations, and attractions around Cahors.
