The Montagrier Trail begins in the small village of Montagrier in the Dordogne, with a Sunday morning program focused on trail running instead of road racing. The primary event is a 32 km trail run featuring 985 meters of elevation gain. It is supported by a 16.5-17 km Chêne Vert option with 495 meters of climbing, separate 8 km women’s and men’s races with 125 meters of climbing, and a hiking option for those who prefer the day without the competition.
The routes offer participants a choice between a long, challenging run and shorter options that still provide significant elevation. With over twenty years of history, the event is a recognized fixture on the local trail calendar, not a recent addition. Bibs must be collected before the start window; on-site registration is not available. Participants can enjoy a country buffet from lunchtime, contributing to the local village-race atmosphere after the running concludes.
