About this race
Le Raid des Petits Suisses Normands is a team-based multisport nature raid held in Pont-d'Ouilly, Calvados, Normandy. It takes place in early April and is timed by hours, not by a fixed-distance road-race format. Les Petits Suisses Normands, the raid nature section of Pont d'Ouilly Loisirs and affiliated with the French Triathlon Federation, organizes the event. The program features timed races with formats like Aventure, Sportif, and Decouverte, alongside S and XS options for teams. The Aventurier raid is for pairs, lasts up to seven hours, covers approximately 70 km, and involves disciplines linked sequentially, including running.
The course utilizes the Suisse Normande terrain near Pont-d'Ouilly, featuring hills, valleys, small mountains, marshes, bocage hedgerows, meadows, rivers, and villages. Navigation is integral to the race, employing road-books for Aventure and Sportif formats, German-style flagging for these same formats, and paired beacons across Aventure, Sportif, and Decouverte. Mountain bikes are included in at least the Sportif setup, with a dedicated VTT drop-off before check-in. Results are published separately for Scratch Aventure, Scratch Sportif, and Points Decouverte, with photos from the race weekend also posted.
