About this race
Le tour des 6 Vallées de l'Oisans is a six-stage trail-running week centered in Les Deux Alpes, Oisans region, Isère, with the first stage beginning at Les Deux Alpes. Runners may select the full mountain version, covering 188 km with 11,300 m of elevation gain across six stages, or opt for the shorter Cœur de l'Oisans at 93 km with 4,400 m of elevation gain. The event takes place in August, organized by the Les 2 Alpes Trail association.
The format offers flexibility beyond a standard stage race: participants can curate their week by selecting stages daily or enter individual stages à la carte. There are 11 stage choices, spanning high-mountain trails to more rolling, runnable terrain. These include sections such as the Plateau d'Emparis, Gorges de Sarenne, the lakes above Alpe d'Huez, Plateau du Taillefer, Crête du Carrelet, and Tête de la Toura. Accommodation centers and daily shuttles facilitate access to the start lines, a practical consideration as the event progresses through various valleys and mountain zones.
